Wedding Crashers Switzerland Xmas Splash ‘10 – Hochzeitsfotografen Schweiz Weihnachtsessen

Hochzeitsfotograf Zürich Schweiz Wedding Photographer Zurich Switzerland Treffen Weihnachtsessen

It’s this time of the year again. December. Christmas coming soon. Time to spend with your family and friends. Time for traditions.

One tradition I started last year is to invite my wedding photographer friends from all over Switzerland for our annual Christmas dinner in Berne – the Wedding Crashers Switzerland Xmas Splash ‘10. We spent a wonderful evening at the restaurant Altes Tramdepot Bern with good food, some drinks and a fun little Pocketbooth app on our iPhones ;-) The freshly baked cupcakes we did with the Cookie Chicks Jeanine, Nadja and Karin at the pre-event were delicious and so were the home-made roasted almonds from Stephanie - yummy! I’m very happy to see the network and friendships grow. It has been a great year, thanks ya’ll!

In the picture (or not), in order of appearance: Nadja Oeler, Andreas Feusi, Philippe Wiget, Richard Overtoom, Katharina Wernli, Urs Anderegg, Ruggero De Pellegrini, Tobias Schmid, Daniel Daeppen, Stephanie Greter, Karin Näf, Jeanine Linder, Colette Dewan, Karin Vonow, Ildiko Varga, Daniel Knecht, Ilsuk Sun, Matthew Anderson

It is a very special moment if a wedding photographer is invited to the wedding of a friend. Especially if your friend is a very talented wedding photographer herself and you are invited as a friend and not as a photographer. Of course I did take a camera to the wedding yesterday in Begnins and Luins in the Nyon area anyway :-) But as I was not the official photographer I was in “freestyle mode” with just one lens (Canon 50mm/1.2L), no flash and was shooting my Mark II all day long at ISO 2500 and f/1.4. A bit risky, but if you nail the focus, you get stunning images. Here’s my favorite image of the day, a fleeting moment on the dance floor.

Congratulations Colette & Curt! You’re a wonderful couple, it was awesome to spend the day with your families and friends! Your wedding was hands down my favorite wedding ever! If I leave the wedding party at the very end and arrive back home at 5am, you know that I liked it ;-)

More to come.

Jannis (Baby Session)

It was a very hot day today. Maybe the hottest day of the year so far. After a little Odyssey because of road works everywhere I finally arrived at the house of Jannis’ parents. It was a tiring baby session. I was sweating not only because of the heat, but also because Jannis was not too much convinced about the idea of a photo session. But he didn’t know what he wanted anyway. Eating? Sleeping? Or no, sorry, changed my mind again! But I guess that’s OK if you’re just 6 weeks old. As I am already grown out of his age, I still have the same problem sometimes :-)

After a (long) while of sweating Jannis finally gave up and went to sleep. Now it was getting at least a little bit easier for the photographer and I was able to capture my favorite image of the day.

Welcome to the world, Jannis!

Pia & Christopher (Engagement Session)

This week I had the pleasure to photograph the engagement session of another fun couple. Pia & Christopher live in Germany and their wedding will take place later this year at the awesome Grand Resort Bad Ragaz in Switzerland. Although I try to make my engagement sessions fun I don’t always encourage my couples to kiss or do something specific again and again. But as Pia & Christopher were kissing during the whole photo session without any direction from my side, it looks like they really enjoy kissing :-) Another thing worth to mention is that Christopher is a really strong guy, he must work out a lot. I don’t know if it comes from his other passion, playing Golf. But whenever we had to cross a lawn to get to another location he was carrying Pia. Usually the guys do that just once, for a picture. And break down after some seconds :-) But as they told me Christopher likes to carry Pia around and that’s what they often do when they spend time together. So it was obviously no problem for him and also came all natural without any direction.

I can’t wait for this terrific wedding! Thanks for your trust and your friendship, Pia & Christopher!
